FLUIDS - Biophysics and Fluids

The FLUIDS section at DTU Physics studies biophysics and fluids over a wide range of scales, spanning from macroscopic fluid flows dominated by vortices, through microfluidic flows in lab-on-a-chip systems and biological microchannels, down to flow in nanochannels and bio-mimetic membranes as well as intracellular flows and dynamics. We are located in Building 309, 1st floor, room 102 - 131.

Theoretical Microfluidics

Professor Henrik Bruus and his group study theoretically and numerically the fundamental physics at the micro- and nanometer scale of fluid and elastodynamics in lab-on-a-chip systems under external forcing, often in international collaborations with experimental groups.

Complex Motion in Fluids

Professor Tomas Bohr and his group focus on experimental and theoretical studies of free surfaces in rotating systems and of fluid flows in plants.

Soft Matter Biophysics

Assoc.Prof. Kaare H. Jensen and his group study physics of biological systems by applying a combination of experimental and theoretical techniques from fluid dynamics, soft-condensed matter physics and micro-fabrication to open problems in biology.
