Ultra-high Vacuum Lab
The Ultra-high Vacuum lab comprises a unique collection of vacuum equipment for the study of catalytic material properties under well-defined conditions.

In order to maintain a well-defined structure or composition of the material under investigation, extremely low pressures (~10^-13 bar) are required.
The surfaces of the materials are characterized inside the vacuum chambers using different spectroscopies based on x-rays, ions, electrons, and with microscopy techniques, primarily scanning tunnel microscopy, scanning electron microscopy, and transmission electron microscopy (at DTU Nanolab).
A number of research projects relating to SURFCAT and V-SUSTAIN are taking place in the lab.
