Let’s give it a spin 2, Copenhagen 2026

Scientific summary

The aim of the workshop is to stimulate discussion on emergent and future directions in the field of 2D spintronics, with a special focus on the status and capabilities of novel theoretical and computational methods used to describe these 2D systems. We are aiming for 50-60 participants who will give invited and contributed talks dedicated to recent progress in 2D spintronics, including 2D magnetism, spin-dependent transport, topological spintronics, magnonics, magnetic van der Waals heterostructures, and related topics. We also aim to create a space where theorists and experimentalists can connect, exchange perspectives, and, ideally, form the basis for new collaboration that will shape the future research in 2D spintronics. Participants are encouraged to submit a proposal for either a contributed talk or a poster. We aim for a diverse group of contributed speakers including PhD students as well as senior researchers.

This workshop continues the series that began in Belgrade, Serbia, in May 2025. More information about the inaugural edition can be found on its dedicated website: www.letsgiveitaspin.eu
