Join us for the talk: The Quantum Revolution: Security, Coordination, and Trust

If you have spent the last few years wondering why everyone is talking about quantum computing but not really understood why: this talk by Bernardo Huberman is for you. It is aimed at non-physicists. No physics degree required, presented by a legendary science communicator.

But it's not just that quantum computing is explained.

Professor Sune Lehmann explains: "Bernardo's recent work in the area is pretty mind-blowing. I am curious about is the last third of the talk. Bernardo argues that quantum technology is not only about breaking and making codes. We can also think of it as a substrate for *trust*: provably secure communication, time synchronization precise enough to hold global networks together, and a foundation for machines and humans to coordinate without having to take each other's word for it.

Also a reminder of who is talking: Bernardo is a legend: Xerox PARC, then Senior Fellow at HP Labs directing the Social Computing Research Group, one of the originators of the "ecology of computation," author of The Laws of the Web. He was doing the economics of attention before any of us had the vocabulary for it."
